Hi JeannieF: My wife had lower back pain, to where she couldn’t do a lot of thing for herself. So, her Dr. told her that she needs some special shots to relieve the pain and she would have to come back later. In the mean time he would give her an acupuncture treatment to relieve the pain for her. So, he breaks out the needles and connects her to an electrical stimulator for about 20 minutes. After she is unplugged and the needles are removed her pain was completely gone and never needed another treatment. But, the big question is “what type of acupuncture are you going through?” I have only seen the acupuncture for pain related issues. I have never seen anything for stop smoking or anything else. My wife says the needles don’t hurt (going in or coming out) and there are different types of needles for different treatments. And you just might have to believe that it would work also. Hope this helped. I would try it. Why not? Steve
