Howard, go into the Setup application on the main menu and check to see if the "Card battery: OK" is displayed in the lower left corner while the flash card is inserted. Yep, these ancient Flash drives have an internal battery too. If the battery says OK, then I don't know what happened, if that battery says bad, then I think your files are gone.

I still use my 200LX daily and have had to re-format my flash drive once because it got corrupted (probably due to the compression software). I was lucky though in that the main 200LX memory was still intact so I didn't lose anything but just stopped using compression, darn I only have 10 MB instead of 20MB now...
